Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using PriceHunt SA (operating at pricehunt.co.za), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

PriceHunt SA is a price comparison and deal intelligence tool designed for South African shoppers. We aggregate product information, prices, and reviews from Amazon SA and various South African retailers. While we strive for absolute accuracy, all prices, stock availability, and landed cost estimates are informational only and subject to change without notice.

3. Account Registration & Responsibilities

You must provide accurate and complete information when registering an account. You are solely responsible for the activity that occurs on your account and for keeping your account password secure. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our policies or engage in abusive automated scraping of our services.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

We offer four subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis via PayFast.

  • Free (R0): Unlimited browsing/search, deal scores, track up to 3 products, 30-day price history, 1 Deal Hunter.
  • Smart Shopper (R69/mo or R549/yr): Track up to 20 products, 12-month history, email alerts, AI review summaries, 5 Deal Hunters, AI Shopping Assistant.
  • Pro (R169/mo or R1,349/yr): Unlimited tracking, full history, instant alerts, AI deal timing, unlimited Deal Hunters, AI Shopping Assistant.
  • Seller Pro (R699/mo or R5,599/yr): Everything in Pro plus Live Streaming (20/mo, 1hr max), Sales Videos (25/mo), Product Push & Showcase (50/mo), Live Auctions (10/mo), Brand Product Catalog, Brand Dashboard, Verified Brand Badge.

Note that usage limits reset monthly and unused allowances do not roll over.

  • Billing: By subscribing to a paid tier, you authorize PayFast to charge the agreed amount to your chosen payment method.
  • Cancellations: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Your premium features will remain active until the end of your current billing cycle. We do not provide partial refunds.
  • Modifications: We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with thirty (30) days notice.

5. Brand Accounts & Seller Pro Features

  • Brand registration requires accurate business information.
  • Brand product catalog listings must be truthful regarding pricing, availability, and product descriptions.
  • PriceHunt SA reserves the right to remove misleading brand listings.
  • Seller Pro features (live streaming, auctions, sales videos, showcases) are only available with an active Seller Pro subscription.
  • Cancelling Seller Pro revokes access to brand features but preserves brand profile data.
  • Brand accounts are subject to verification.

6. Deal Hunters & Automated Alerts

  • Deal Hunters perform automated product searches based on user-defined criteria.
  • Email alerts are sent on a best-effort basis; we do not guarantee delivery timing.
  • Product availability and pricing in alerts reflect data at the time of the search and may change.
  • Deal Hunter limits are based on subscription tier.

7. Live Streaming & Conduct

  • Users must not stream illegal, offensive, harmful, or misleading content.
  • PriceHunt SA may terminate streams that violate community guidelines without notice.
  • Stream duration capped at 60 minutes per session.
  • We are not responsible for content broadcast by third-party streamers.
  • Product showcases during streams must accurately represent the products.

8. Live Auctions

  • Bids placed during live auctions are binding expressions of intent to purchase.
  • PriceHunt SA facilitates auctions between brands and users but is NOT a party to any sale.
  • Dispute resolution between auction participants is between buyer and seller.
  • We reserve the right to void auctions in cases of technical failure or suspected manipulation.
  • Auction items and their descriptions are the responsibility of the brand/seller.

9. SA Retailer Price Comparisons

  • We are not responsible for pricing errors from third-party retailer data.
  • Product matching between Amazon and SA retailers is done by keyword and may occasionally show non-identical products.
  • Always verify the final price on the retailer's own website before purchasing.

10. AI Features Disclaimer

Features such as "Deal Scores" (Great Deal, Fair Price, Wait for Drop), AI Review Summaries, and the AI Shopping Assistant are powered by PriceHunt AI. These insights are generated algorithmically based on historical data and trends. They are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute financial or professional purchasing advice. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of future price predictions.

  • AI Shopping Assistant conversations may be used to improve recommendations .
  • Deal timing recommendations are statistical estimates and not guarantees.

11. User-Generated Content

When uploading video reviews, submitting challenge entries, or engaging in live streams, you retain ownership of your content, but grant PriceHunt SA a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content across our platform. You agree not to upload content that is illegal, offensive, or violates the intellectual property rights of others.

  • Video reviews are subject to moderation and may be removed.
  • Sales videos uploaded by brand accounts must comply with advertising standards.
  • Live stream chat messages must be respectful; we reserve the right to moderate.

12. Limitation of Liability

PriceHunt SA acts as an aggregator. We are not responsible for the fulfillment, shipping, quality, or warranty of any products purchased through external retailers. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, PriceHunt SA shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the service or inaccuracies in our pricing data.

13. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
